      <image:title>FACULTY - Amy Matthews, Director of Sonder Movement Project</image:title>
      <image:caption>Amy Matthews, BMC® Teacher, IDME, CMA, RSMT/RSME has been teaching in the US and internationally since 1994. She has taught on somatic certification programs and in a variety of university and studio settings, integrating experiential anatomy, kinesiology, embryology, and developmental movement with inquiries into pedagogy, educational philosophy, and movement practices. Amy is a Body-Mind Centering® Teacher, a Certified Laban Movement Analyst, an Infant Developmental Movement Educator, and a movement therapist and yoga teacher. She is the co-founder and co-director, with Sarah Barnaby, of Babies Project in NYC, and is the Program Director of Sonder Movement Project, which offers the Somatic Movement Educator (SME) and Infant Developmental Movement Educator (IDME) programs for the School of Body-Mind Centering®. Amy taught for four years with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen in Berkeley CA, was on the faculty of the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies for 10 years, and created the Advanced Studies Program for The Breathing Project with Leslie Kaminoff as well as co-authoring the book Yoga Anatomy with him. Amy has studied for many years with Irene Dowd and Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, and has participated several times in Gil Hedley’s dissection workshops. She has studied yoga with a variety of teachers in the Desikachar and Iyengar traditions, and full-contact karate with Sensei Michelle Gay. Amy offers online and in-person sessions and classes that integrate Laban Movement Analysis, Bartenieff Fundamentals, yoga, Body-Mind Centering and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF).       <image:title>FACULTY - Kim Sargent-Wishart</image:title>
      <image:caption>Kim Sargent-Wishart is an educator, researcher &amp; artist specializing in somatic movement methodologies across a range of applications, including continuing education, creative development and leadership. Research &amp; practice interests include embryology as a model for embodiment and creative practice, somatic writing, contemplative photography &amp; perceptual process. Residing near Melbourne Australia, Kim is administrative director and teacher on the SME program at Somatic Education Australasia (SEA). She is a Certified Practitioner (1999) and Teacher (2019) of Body-Mind Centering® and a Registered Somatic Movement Educator &amp; Therapist (ISMETA).  Kim has studied and taught various forms of movement and bodywork for several decades, including receiving a BA with Honors in Dance (Wesleyan University, 1987), Massage Therapist qualification (Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy, 1990), and an apprentice-based Pilates instructor training (San Francisco, 1993). She completed a PhD in Performance Studies from Victoria University (Melbourne, Australia, 2016) with a focus on somatics, experiential embryology and Tibetan Buddhist philosophies in creative practice. Her arts practice is influenced by Miksang photography, screendance, somatic writing and dance/movement improvisation, and her writings have been published in several journals and anthologies. She is the co-founder of ASTER Association and co-editor of The Art of Embodiment. Kim teaches extensively online and is currently a visiting tutor at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne.       <image:title>FACULTY - Tarina Quelho de Castro</image:title>
      <image:caption>Tarina has a masters in Clinic Psychology (PUC São Paulo- Brazil) and is a Body-Mind Centering® Teacher. She is a researcher interested in movement and relationships. In the early 2000’s at Estudio Nova Dança (São Paulo-Brasil) she got to know movement exploration and composition through contact-improvisation, motor coordination (Piret &amp;amp; Béziers) and new dance approaches, first as a student and later as a teacher. Amongst teachers that she has taken classes from are Tica Lemos, Cristiane Paoli-Quito, Adriana Grechi, Lu Favoretto, Lisa Nelson ,Steve Paxton, Alito Alessi, David Zambrano e André Trindade. Working mainly in Brasil, in the past 23 years she has taught dancers, actors, special needs children and psychiatric patients. Currently she teaches at the Drama School in Universidade de São Paulo (Escola de Arte Dramática – EAD/ECA/USP) and at both the Brazilian and Uruguayan BMC® programs, where she is also the co-director. As a theater director she has been touring with the show Is This a Black? ( Isto é um Negro?). One of the questions she feels implicated in today, being a mestizo person, is how can somatics support our political imagination so that we can surpass ourselves.</image:caption>

      <image:title>FACULTY - Wendy Hambidge</image:title>
      <image:caption>Wendy Hambidge is a certified Body-Mind Centering® Practitioner and Teacher, Registered Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist, and an Infant Developmental Movement Educator. As an artist, she produced dance work for 30 years and holds an MFA in choreography and performance. Wendy first encountered Body-Mind Centering® in 1990 where she found it to radiate with possibility for self-study, movement, and choreography. Wendy now utilizes BMC with clients, ranging from artists and athletes to parents and babies, to develop deep physiological awareness—supporting individuals through somatic inquiry related to coordination, development, muscle patterning, creativity, performance, injury, chronic pain, and psychophysical integration. Based in Portland, OR, Wendy has taught Experiential Anatomy in the Yoga Shala Teacher Training Program and Embodied Anatomy and Yoga (EAY) program with Amy Matthews. She regularly assists Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen (BMC℠ founder) and currently teaches Experiential Anatomy for The People’s Yoga Teacher Training Program, and the School for Body-Mind Centering® Licensed Programs throughout the US and Europe.       <image:caption>Rebecca is a Certified Body-Mind Centering® Practitioner and Teacher with over 34 years’ experience working with children and adults. Rebecca’s focus on the body began in college when she created a special major combining dance, art, science and education. Rebecca’s BMC®-based practice, called Body Learning, is also informed by studies in dance, taiji, qigong, and yoga. She taught Somatic Drawing™ classes and workshops in the Bay Area and in Europe. She taught at the Bridge School for 11 years, doing creative movement and art with children with severe physical and language impairment. She has taught in several BMC® training programs since 2013. Rebecca has been teaching weekly online BMC® classes called “Shelter in the Body” since 2020. Rebecca is also a visual artist working with somatic and environmental themes. Rebecca is certified through BMC® as an Infant Developmental Movement Educator. She is a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist through ISMETA and is a Certified Somatic Therapist through ABMP.       <image:caption>Nisha engages in processes in which spirit and embodiment, Eastern and Western culture merge. Born in India, she is deeply connected to her roots. She studied Buddhism with Ponlop Rinpoche for over 20 years, Indian Mythology and Ayurvedic Medicine with Dr. Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico. Passionate about the work with touch, she graduated from the Swedish Institute in Massage Therapy. Her search for profound and subtle experiences led her to train in Biodynamic Cranio-Sacral Therapy with Michael Dunning, while the study of embryology connects her to ancient Indian practices. She came to BMC® through her 25 year study of Iyengar Yoga practice with Genny Kapuler in New York. And it was Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen who was fundamental in her awakening. Nisha is a Practitioner and Teacher of Body-Mind Centering®, and an Infant Developmental Movement Educator (IDME). Nisha is Certified Laban Bartenieff Movement Analyst. She has taught BMC® in Italy, Montreal, and in New York at the Breathing Project and the Marymount High School. He resides in New York City, where she holds a private practice.       <image:caption>Bob has been studying Body-Mind Centering® since 1984. He received his certification as Practitioner of Body-Mind Centering® (BMC®) in 1990, and as Teacher of Body-Mind Centering in 2002. Since then, Bob has received teacher certifications for BMC Yoga, Integral Yoga, and Supreme Science of Qigong. He served on the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork for 15 years and has been teaching in schools of massage therapy and programs of somatic training since 1990. He has had the good fortune to teach BMC and somatic practices throughout the US and internationally in Europe, Canada, China, and Taiwan. Bob is a co-founder of Kinesthetic Learning Center in Durham, North Carolina, and has been on faculty teaching and coordinating the BMC Somatic Movement Educator (SME) and Practitioner certification programs 2007-2018.       <image:caption>Nina is a member of the directing team at moveus, the German Licensed BMC® Program. She is a certified Body-Mind Centering® Practitioner and Teacher, a certified Infant Development Movement Educator (IDME), and a graduate of the Yoga and BMC® Program. Based in Germany and Italy, Nina teaches Body-Mind Centering® internationally. She studied Contemporary Dance, taught Yoga extensively for more than 15 years, and has been practicing and teaching Contact Improvisation for over 25 years.  Nina offers her own Body-Mind Centering® training programs in Berlin, Germany and Genova, Italy, teaches workshops worldwide and intensive courses at Contact Improvisation dance festivals, and is a regular guest teacher in professional dance and yoga training programs.
